Whenever there is a vacancy in the Monarchy, the people of Rumuokwurusi meet to select a worthy son of Okwurusi to fill such vacancy. In the recent past, Eze E.O.O. Orianwo ascended the throne in 1972 as Eze Esara II, after he was selected by the people of Rumuokwurusi and presented to the entire Oro-Esara. He was installed in December, 1972 as Eze Esara II by the entire Oro-Esara Kingdom.

Eze S.I. Amadi who succeeded him was selected by the people of Rumuokwurusi and installed as Eze Esara III in April, 1995. His installation was performed by the entire Oro-Esara people. When Eze S.I. Amadi went to be with the Lord, there was another vacancy in the throne.

In June, 2002 the present monarch ascended the throne after he was duly selected by the people of Rumuokwurusi. His Royal Majesty Eze Sir (Hon.) S.O. Worlu was coronated as Eze Esara IV on Saturday 1st June, 2002 in a grand and colourful ceremony at Rumuorianwo community. His ascendancy to the coveted stool ushered in a remarkable difference in the kingdom. He immediately built a modern Esara Palace (Obiri Esara) and soon after embarked upon some revival programmes to dedicate the entire Oro-Esara to Christ. He has since 2004 organised two successful city-wide Crusades for Salvation, Deliverance, Healing and Prosperity.

His Majesty Eze Sir (Hon) S.O. Worlu, JP runs a growing Interdenominational Fellowship Ministry in the Esara Palace in conjunction with ministers of God and churches within the Kingdom. After each Crusade new converts are usually distributed to various churches around. Esara Royal Fellowship is also a philanthropic organisation helping widows, the fatherless, the less privileged, and the needy and gives support to churches and Compassion Homes.
